We are looking for a Business Intelligence Specialist whose main focus will be on the MDM needs of the product and material (P&M) domain content, but also on the other domains. Engage with the Division/Business Unit for setting strategies and priorities for Master Data and ensure the implementation of new Master Data standards and monitors the compliance by ensuring that relevant set of instructions, standards and rules are established to regulate the management of data within the Division/Business Unit. Serve as division representative for IDEA/IDW in setting and implementing inward and outward master data strategies.

Your responsibilities

  • Work with the global Division/Business Unit team to ensure Master Data strategies
  • Operates with a prime focus on Product and Materials (P&M) domain, but also responsible to cover the other Master Data Domains. Working with IDEA/IDW and help in setting and implementing inward and outward master data strategies
  • Responsible for Master Data creation, maintenance, other operational processes and use of Master Data within the Division/Business Unit
  • Ensures that relevant sets of instructions, standards and rules are established to regulate the management of data within the Division/Business Unit and that the given processes and metrics for Master Data are followed. Ensures the implementation of new Master Data standards within own Division/Business Unit and monitors the compliance to Master Data standards and rules
  • Manages and communicates status of reporting and progress against implementation plans
  • Work with the team representing the Division/Business Unit in Master Data governance of the Master Data Domains, with focus on Product & Material Domain, help define new standards, meeting the project timelines and support implementation strategies, monitoring the progress and handling issues
Your background

  • Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent with an area of study in data management, business administration, marketing or similar discipline
  • 3 plus years of Data Management experience
  • SAP experience
  • Must understand the importance and benefits of good data quality
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time to defined timelines
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, with proficiency in advanced Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Sequel Navigator (SQL), and associated business tools
  • Critical thinker with experience problem solving in a dynamic environment
  • Highly professional presence, with excellent verbal and written skills
  • Ability to influence others / convey ideas and concepts to expand master data understanding
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, to hit tight deadlines, and take initiative on multiple projects
  • Ability to learn / understand product offering to drive data content maintenance and enhancements
  • Collaborative team player
  • Estimated travel 10-25%
  • Proven electrical industry experience and product knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Industry Standards (UNSPSC/IGCC, ETIM, etc.)
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
