What you will do:

  • Provide day-to-day support for Operations to maximize the reliability, performance, changeover, and maintenance of production equipment
  • Optimize the maintenance strategies (preventative and corrective) for production equipment
  • Work in conjunction with manufacturing and functional area managers / supervisors to align support system such as computerized maintenance management system, spare parts inventory, planning and scheduling
  • Act as technical lead for the equipment and associated utilities to support projects and enhance Operator and Maintenance Technician capabilities
  • Work with quality, operations, maintenance, and engineering groups to support the site equipment reliability program.
  • Lead technical troubleshooting efforts to determine the root cause of equipment failures and underperformance; implement timely and effective corrective actions
  • Evaluate maintenance strategies to ensure the effective use of resources and to maximize equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs
  • Optimize spare parts inventory to deliver cost effective equipment availability
  • Utilize SAP to improve reliability; ensure accurate data collection/analysis by establishing and monitoring reliability Key Performance Indicators
  • Review and improve maintenance procedures, PM tasks, and opportunistic maintenance
  • Drive implementation of continuous improvement actions. Acts as a champion for Zero defects/ Lean methodology and application of Lean concepts in work area. Supports team in application of lean concepts and methodology
  • Assist with the management of capital projects from development to commissioning, including supervision of contractors, writing work permits, creating written procedures, operator, and maintenance training, labeling and completion of contractor punch lists
  • Take the lead on capital projects for the maintenance department
  • Provide management for the entire facility when necessary
  • Take necessary action to eliminate and immediately address safety concerns
  • Manage and provide pre-task planning, technical expertise, guidance and leadership for multi-craft, Electricians and Mechanic to troubleshoot & repair equipment
  • Maintain equipment documentation and drawing library
  • Prepare technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures
  • Use predictive technologies to drive uptime and improve the maintenance system and track improvement in MTTR and MTBF

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; preferably in Engineering, Chemical, Mechanical, or electrical; experience may be considered in lieu of education
  • 6 + years of experience required; including 1+ years in a mentor, supervisor, or plant leadership role
  • Experience in Operations, Engineering, or other plant leadership positions strongly preferred
  • Full Face Respirator Fit certified or ability to be
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite considered an asset
  • Ability to pass Pulmonary Function Test
  • Working experience in SAP and a PSM environment preferred
