Job Description
Machine Specialist (2nd and 3rd shifts)

Efficiently and safely adjusts machines to produce greeting cards at the highest speed and quality possible. Interprets the overlays from the overlays, makes required measurements (to 1/64"), and adjusts machines accordingly. Trouble shoots machine as required to ensure safe operation. Clean machines as needed to prolong machine life. Advises coordinator of quality or output problems when they can't be immediately resolved and understands SAFETY is our main goal.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible to set up a safe, efficient, operation of 10 or more types of machinery.
Makes minor repairs, as outlined by maintenance and/or mechanical technician. Will assist maintenance as required in the repair of overhaul of machines in assigned area. Responsible for keeping machines clean and in good mechanical condition.
Performs stock work as assigned. Checks for proper identification on inbound and outbound stock in assigned area. Required to use banding tools, hand trucks, and power walkie stackers.
Makes necessary visual quality checks as specified by procedure, and other special checks as assigned. To be alert and quality conscious at all times and strive to produce the best quality product possible.
Maintains production orders and machine logs as operation requires.
Responsible for good housekeeping and orderly arrangement of materials and equipment in assigned area.
Must be able to perform average mathematical calculations and accurately determine measurements down to 1/64th of an inch.
Trains new operators as assigned.

Strenuous lifting and moving of machinery will be periodically required.
Must be able to release jobs on the computer and use the computer to check component requirements.

May be required to work in temperature extremes and crowded, dusty conditions.
Work area needs to be clean of any debris to insure the area is a safe work space.
A fast-paced environment with an occasional heavy workload. Job may require working more than 40 hours a week at times. Frequent fixed deadlines.
