Responsibilities:

  • Independently lead master plans, detailed planning studies, conceptual, schematic, and detailed designs, plans development, opinions of probable construction cost (OPCC), and technical specifications for pump stations, storage facilities, water/wastewater treatment facilities, and water and wastewater conveyance systems.
  • Technical responsibilities may include performing basis-of-design analyses, asset condition analyses, design calculations, infrastructure siting, detailed design and permitting.
  • Lead and support design projects, providing project planning and coordination, design method development, technical specification development, coordination of front-end documents, engineering report preparation and coordination, equipment sizing and selection, and quality control reviews.
  • Roles for projects include Engineer-of-Record, Quality Control Reviewer, and Technical Advisor.
  • Lead bid and construction phase services including construction administration and site observation staff.
  • Serve as a technical expert in water and wastewater systems.
  • Communicate and interact with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, and others as appropriate to the project.
  • Mentor to new and mid-level engineers.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • B.S. or M.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or like degree with relevant experience is required.
  • B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering with relevant experience is required.
  • M.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience is preferred but not required.
  • Professional (P.E.) licensure is required.
  • 10-15 years of P.E. experience with municipal water and wastewater planning and design.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare high-quality reports and technical memoranda; preparation and sealing design plans and specifications; strong attention to detail.
  • Strong technical background and experience in designing water/wastewater utility systems, pipelines, pump stations, storage, treatment plants, and control measures. Experience with stormwater systems is a plus, but not required.
