Responsibilities

TRC is seeking an initiative-taking Bridge Engineer for our growing transportation practice in Memphis, TN, although alternate locations and/or hybrid work environments will be considered for a qualified candidate.

The ideal candidate will have experience working on Tennessee DOT bridge projects, be a team player, and be enthusiastic in working with other engineers, project managers, and other technical staff assisting with planning, designing, and overseeing bridge engineering projects, such as the inspection, load rating and design of new bridges and bridges to be rehabilitated.

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the design of new bridges as well as bridges to be rehabilitated.
  • Participate in the production of project plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
  • Be involved in all project aspects including inspection/load-rating/design, site/field visits during construction, shop drawing review, and be able to work independently.
  • Efficiently produce quality deliverables while meeting budget and schedules on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor entry-level staff and be responsible for entry-level staff job tasks.
  • Ability to provide QA/QC on design calculations, design plans, inspection report, load rating calculations and reports etc.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 6 or more years of Bridge Design, Bridge Rehabilitation Design, Inspection, and Load Rating experience.
  • Professional Engineer certification (P.E.) is preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Experience working with complex software such and MDX, MIDAS, LUSAS, AASHTO Ware, Bentley Bridge Design Software (Open Bridge and LEAP), LARSA, etc. is preferred.
  • Experience using computer assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering and design documents.
  • Working knowledge of MicroStation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be flexible, well organized, accountable, and dependable.

Salary Range

USD $95,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 /Yr.
