Career Consultant Barbara Herzog helps her clients achieve success in the workplace - by changing careers, finding new jobs, or solving workplace problems.


Barbara's private practice encompasses career consulting, speaking and training on career exploration and change, assessment, job targeting, networking, interview preparation, salary negotiation and job advancement. She also assists clients with downsizing, difficult workplaces, and work/life issues.


Barbara has over 15 years of management experience, including interviewing, salary negotiation and staff development as a manager at AARP. Previously, she gained government experience as an analyst at the U.S. Department of State. She holds a Ph.D. in International Relations from Johns Hopkins, an M.A. in counseling from George Washington University, and a certification (NCC) by the National Board of Certified Counselors.


Barbara provides occasional advice to job seekers in The Washington Post and Fortune magazine. Her clients include for-profit, not-for profit, and government professionals in a wide range of fields, including business, finance, IT, public relations, marketing, law, and education.
